Padubidri: Half naked protest seeking toll concession
Padubidri: As the KRV workers' protest, seeking concession for Padubidre district panchayat limit vehicles be given concession at Hejamadi tollgate, entered 23rd day; they protested half naked in front of the district administration office on Wednesday.
"Protesters led by the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, have been protesting for 22 days but the district administration is not heeding their demands. The deputy commissioner did not come to the venue on Tuesday," the protesters said.
KRV district president Ansar Ahmed, taluk president Syed Nizamuddin, and Asif blackened their bodies and protested half-naked. Meanwhile, they raised slogans against the District Administration, politicians, people's representatives and against Navayuga authorities.
Mithun Rai visits: D.K District Youth Congress President Mithun Rai visited the spot. He spoke to the Navayuga officials over phone and urged them not to charge toll fees from the vehicles that belong to Padubidre district panchayat limits until the road works complete.

Trump says suspect was armed with multiple weapons at WH correspondents' dinner
Washington (PTI): President Donald Trump is addressing reporters at the White House after he and other top leaders of the United States were evacuated from an annual dinner of White House correspondents on Saturday night after a shooting incident outside the ballroom.
Trump said the suspect was armed with multiple weapons before stopped by Secret Service. One officer was shot, but he was protected by a bulletproof vest.
“He was shot from very close distance with a very powerful gun, and the vest did the job,” Trump said.
