Padubidri: A group of miscreants stabbed a person to death on Wednesday night near a bar at Kunjarkatte in Padubidri police station limits.

The deceased has been identified as Naveen D’souza (42), a resident of Kunjarakatte.

According to police, a group of miscreants arrived there in a Swift car and attacked him.

There were many cases against D'souza, and it is said that an old rivalry was the reason behind the killing.

SP Laxman Nimbargi with other officials visited the site.

Pudabidri police have registered a case, and the investigation is on.

Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has declared a seven-day state mourning to honour the late former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, who passed away on Thursday night at the age of 92 at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi.

Additionally, a government holiday has been declared on December 27, and all schools and colleges in the state will remain closed for the day.

Dr. Singh, one of India's most revered economist and statesman, served as the Prime Minister of India from 2004 to 2014. His tenure saw transformative economic reforms that helped position India as one of the world’s largest economies.
