Mangaluru: The management of Kukke Shree Subrahmanya Temple has issued a public circular saying that poojas conducted outside the temple may not reach god.

The temple’s circular comes in the wake of the increasing number of middlemen, who according to the temple management are taking devotees for a ride by luring them with private poojas and special rituals and fleecing them.

“Rituals and pujas performed outside the premises, for example on the river’s banks, marriage halls and other temples or in mutts, are purely private in nature. It is believed that such pujas or offerings may not reach Lord Shree Kukke Subrahmanya,” the temple has said.
