Procession of Dr Rajendra Kumar silver jubilee celebration gets grand start
Mangaluru: To kick off the celebration of the silver jubilee of Dr M N Rajendra Kumar as the successful president of the South Canara District Central Co-Operative Bank ltd (SCDCC) and the convention of Navodaya self-help groups, union Minister DV Sadananda Gowda flagged off a grand procession on the premises of SCDCC bank at Kodial Bail.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Felicitation Committee president Ikala Bava Devi Prasad Shetty, Raju Poojary, Shashikiran, Sadashiva Ullal, Monappa Shetty Ekkaru, Sunil Kumar Bajagoli, Devaraj, and were present.
The procession will enter into Nehru Maidan after passing through Hampankatte, Clock Tower, AB Shetty Circle.
More than 61 artists across the procession were the special attraction.

Youth drowns in Durga falls in Karkala
Udupi (Karnataka), Nov 28: A 19-year-old boy drowned on Thursday while bathing in Durga falls near Karkala, police said.
According to police, a group of seven college students arrived at the falls and were taking bath.
In the afternoon, Joyal Dias slipped and fell into the deep gorge while trying to get into the water to take bath.
When Karkala rural police reached the location, they launched a search. After much effort, they were able to locate and retrieve the body.
Further investigation is on, police said.
