Udupi: Prohibitory orders have been imposed around Brahmavar Police Station in Udupi, where Mahesh Shetty Timarodi was summoned for questioning on Thursday. Police said the measure was taken to ensure law and order during the inquiry.

The orders, issued under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarika Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, restrict gatherings within a 500-metre radius of the police station. Authorities noted that the step was necessary given the tense atmosphere in the district.

According to the district administration, the prohibitory order was based on a report submitted by the Superintendent of Police. It will remain in effect until 1:00 PM on Friday, the Deputy Commissioner stated.
