Rachana Awards 2018 announced
Mangaluru, October 16: The Rachana organisation, a subsidiary of Catholic Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has announced the Rachana Awards 2018 for the achievers of Catholic community.
Organisation President Stany Alvares told reporters here on Tuesday that five personalities were selected for the award.
Lawrence Pinto was selected for Rachana Agriculturist Award, Ronald Castelino for Rachana Industrialist Award, Faye D’Souza for Rachana Professional Award, Aloysius Richard Lobo for Rachana Non-residential Industrialist/Professional Award and C Maria Jyothi A.C. was selected for Rachana Woman award, he said.
The award presentation programme would be at Milagres Jubilee Auditorium here on November 17 at 6 pm. Mangaluru Bishop Rev. Peter Pavla Saldana would preside over it. Karnataka Circle Chief Postmaster General Dr. Charles Lobo would be present as chief guest and non-resident industrialist Ronald Kullaso would be the guest of honour, he said.
Award committee convener John B. Montero, Secretary Anil Was and Treasure Felix J. Pinto were present at the press conference.

Gill leads Gujarat Titans to 5-wicket win against Kolkata Knight Riders
Ahmedabad (PTI): Shubman Gill led from the front with a classy 86 as Gujarat Titans defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by five wickets in an Indian Premier League match here on Friday.
Earlier, KKR all-rounder Cameron Green produced a fighting 79 off 55 balls to lift his side to 180 all out. In reply, Gill anchored the chase with a composed 86 off 50 deliveries as GT crossed the line in 19.4 overs.
The win marked GT's third successive victory after opening with two losses, while KKR's search for their first win of the season continues.
