Santosh Guruji appeals Bunts community to stop lavishness and glitter of Nagaradhane

Udupi, September 9: Vishwasantosh Bharati Guruji of Barakur Mahasansthan appealed the bunts community to stop lavishness and squandering of money in the name of Nagaradhane and spend that amount to help the poor in the community.
Speaking at the World Bunts Convention-2018, organized by the Federation of World Bunts Associations and Udupi Bunts Associations, at Ammanni Ramanna Shetty auditorium here on Sunday, the Guruji said that the Bhootaradhane and Nagaradhane of the bunts community were missing the track due to lavishness and squandering of money. The spiritual and religious rituals of the bunts and Tuluvas should be passed on to the next generation. Every community would have the poor and the rich. Each community may have only 10 per cent rich people. The bunts community also has majority of poor and it was the duty of the community to help them, he said.
In the name of Bhootaradhane and Nagaradhane, around Rs 30 crore is being spent in the district. Bunts would spend crores for Nagamandala rituals. The community people should think of minimizing the expenses. They could conduct the rituals in just Rs 9-10 lakh and remaining amount could be contributed to the poor and their health. It would surely give some solace. So, stop lavishness in the Nagamandala, Bhootaradhane and other religious rituals. Conduct marriages in a simple way and live happily without hating anybody in the society, he said.
Gurudevananda Swamiji of Odiyoor Mutt said that “Bunt means organizer or protector. It is another name for self confidence. Bunt is one who lives and let others to live. If we have security for the society, we need to have commitment in the religion. Bunts community is matriarchal dominated society due to which, the community has grown strongly”, he said.
Bunt community was not lagging behind in any sectors. The community should be in the front in social service. Only those who have love could create a healthy society. If the mother tongue is survived, the culture would survive, he said.

Ramdas Athawale backs Fadnavis as Maharashtra CM; says Shinde can shift to Centre
New Delhi, Nov 26: RPI(A) leader Ramdas Athawale, a key BJP ally, on Tuesday called for a quick decision on the next chief minister of Maharashtra and suggested that incumbent Eknath Shinde should shift to the Centre as a Union minister.
Addressing a press conference here, Athawale also backed senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis as the next chief minister of Maharashtra, contending that the saffron party won the maximum number of seats in the 288-member Assembly and should have the right to the top executive post in the state.
He said a peculiar situation has arisen in Maharashtra where BJP leaders want Fadnavis as the chief minister, while Shiv Sena leaders want Shinde to continue in the post, citing the good work he has done over the last two and a half years.
Athawale, the Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, said NCP leader and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has declared that he was not in the race for the chief minister.
"We need to resolve this matter, without any further delay. The election results were announced on November 23 and we should have had the oath of the new chief minister on November 26, the Constitution Day," Athawale said.
Backing Fadnavis for the post of chief minister, Athawale said Shinde can become the deputy chief minister or shift to the Centre and join the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Athawale said his RPI(A) has a presence in every part of the state, but unfortunately lost the two seats -- Dharavi and Kalina -- offered to it in the recent Maharashtra Assembly elections.
He demanded that an RPI member be made an MLC and a minister in the state government.
The BJP-led Mahayuti won a landslide victory in the Maharashtra Assembly elections winning 235 seats in the 288-member House. The BJP won 132 seats, followed by Shinde-led Shiv Sena (57) and Ajit Pawar-led NCP (41). Smaller parties, who are part of the alliance, won five seats.
