Mangaluru: A section of students on Monday staged a protest under the leadership of CFI when an issue related to head scarf surfaced at St. Agnes College that is located near Bendurwell in the city.
“At the beginning of the academic year itself, there was an attempt to prevent us from wearing scarf. But we were just opposing it. They insisted us on accepting the rules of the educational institution. They warned us of penalty. This is why we have boycotted classes to register a protest, "said the student. Meanwhile, college principal held talks with students and CFI leaders; but they did not yield any results.
Jesvina AC, principal of Saint Agnes College, said "St. Agnes College is a minority educational institution and we respect every student of this institution. In case of any problem, management will discuss with the students and parents and will resolve the issue."
