Murdeshwar: Associates of Students Islamic Organisation of India, Murdeshwar Unit, (SIO) recenty distributed face shields manufactured by Makers’ Hub, Bhatkal, among the health workers, police personnel and frontline warriors against Corona Virus.
The associates visited various healthcare and other government offices and distributed the face shield among the personnel.
The associates visited Murdeshwar Police Station, Government Hospital, RNS Hospital, Panchayath Office, local medical stores, petrol bunks and electric office and distributed the face shields. They also visited local social and sports clubs and distributed the shields for their volunteers.
SIO Murdeshwar Circle Organiser, Daniyal Manna on the occasion thanked the frontline health workers, Doctors, Cops and ASHA workers who are working day-in and day-out to stop the spread of deadly COVID-19 across the world.
He also asserted that there was a need for the people to co-operate with the authorities and stay at home and maintain social distance to contribute as a responsible citizen in this fight against the deadly virus.
Makers’ Hub a student run NGO had recently created face shields for the frontline warriors against the virus and had distributed the first batch of the shields in Bhatkal Taluka.

Bengaluru: The High Court has rejected the application filed by activist Mahesh Shetty Thimarody challenging Puttur Assistant Commissioner’s externment order sending him out of Dakshina Kannada district.
Puttur AC Stella Varghese had issued the order, externing Shetty to Manvi taluk of Raichur district on March 13, 2026.
Justice Sachin Shankar Magadum, who earlier heard the plea filed by Shetty and kept the judgment pending, said on Thursday that the activist’s application was being rejected.
Stating that the petition was invalid, the judge clarified that the activist could file an application challenging the order with the Home Secretary. He also directed the state government not to take any action in connection with the case for two weeks.
A detailed version of the verdict, however, is awaited.
