Dharmasthala: Special Investigation Team (SIT) Chief Dr Pronab Mohanty, IPS officer Anucheth, and officer C.A. Simon visited the location near the Netravati river in Dharmasthala on July 30 evening, where the SIT is currently carrying out operations.

The officials visited the fourth marked spot and conducted an inspection as part of the ongoing probe into allegations of multiple burials in the region.

Earlier in the day, during the operation at the third marked location, no remains were found. The SIT team has now begun work at the fourth spot.

From 11:30 am to 2:30 pm on Tuesday, the team had also dug up the second marked location, but no signs of any remains were found there either.

Latur (PTI): A minor girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped by an 18-year-old man in Latur, leading to the arrest of the main accused and owners of two cafes where the crime occurred on December 4, police said on Saturday.

Police traced the girl within hours of registering the complaint. The accused, identified as Rihan Gulab Shaikh, was arrested based on the girl's complaint. Two others are owners of two cafes where the crime occurred, police said.

 

Police registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), POCSO Act, and the Prevention of Atrocities Act, an official said.
