Mangaluru: Extending its relief working during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Team B-Human in association with the Indian Red Cross Society and Team Maka-A-Change organized its sixth COVID vaccination camp in the city on Tuesday. The campaign was held at Bishop Jatana Hall here at Balmatta.

During the vaccination drive, 272 people received their COVID vaccine jabs most of whom were Hotel Workers, Construction Workers, and Special School Students.

Eight disabled senior citizens and paralyzed patients also received their vaccine doses at their homes after the camp volunteers reached them with vaccines at the request of their families.

An official statement from Team B-Human thanked Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath, Sandeep Garodi, Naveen D'Souza, local Corporators, and Dr. Watson, Executive of Bishop Jatana Hall for helping in organizing of this camp.

Founder Asif Deals of Team B-Human conveyed his heartfelt thanks to all who supported the campaign throughout.

Volunteers from all three organizations helped in the smooth functioning of the campaign that was mainly held for people of poor and backward class sectors.

Srinagar (PTI): Property worth Rs 1 crore belonging to a notorious drug peddler was on Saturday attached in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar, police said.

A double-storey house on eight marlas of land situated at Wantpora Eidgah, belonging to Basit Bilal Dar, a notorious drug peddler, valued at approximately Rs 1 crore, a police spokesperson said.

He said Dar is involved in two cases registered under various sections of the NDPS Act.

During investigation, it was established that the accused had acquired the said property through illicit proceeds generated from drug trafficking activities, the spokesperson said.

Consequently, the property was attached under the provisions of the NDPS Act. The attachment proceedings were conducted in the presence of the two independent witnesses, strictly in accordance with the prescribed legal procedures, he said.

As per the attachment order, the owner has been restrained from selling, leasing, transferring, altering, or creating any third-party interest in the property till further orders, the spokesperson added.
