Tense situation in BC Road under control amid tight police security
Bantwal: A tense situation arose in BC Road on Monday morning following provocative statements by Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Sharan Pumpwell and former Bantwal Municipality Chairman Muhammad Sharif. However, by the afternoon, the situation was brought under control with a heavy police presence deployed in the area.
The tension escalated when Sangh Parivar workers, responding to the Sangh Parivar's 'BC Road Chalo' call, gathered in front of the Rakteshwari temple and attempted to march while shouting slogans against Muhammad Sharif. A scuffle broke out between the protestors and police, who had set up barricades to prevent the march. Eventually, the police managed to disperse the crowd.
Several Sangh Parivar leaders, including Sharan Pumpwell, Puneeth Attavar, and Prasad Kumar Rai Bantwal, were present during the protest. Additional security has been provided under the supervision of IGP Amit Singh, District SP Yatish N., AC Harshvardhan, and Tehsildar Archana Bhat, who were present at the scene to ensure law and order. The authorities have deployed additional police personnel and reinforced security around BC Road.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered against Muhammad Sharif and Municipality Member Hasainar at the Bantwal Police Station for making provocative statements, and they are reportedly currently in police custody for questioning. Cases have also been filed against Sharan Pumpwell and Puneeth Attavar at the Mangaluru CEN Crime Police Station.

Trump tells Fox News he's no longer sending Witkoff, Kushner to Pakistan for Iran talks
Islamabad (AP): President Donald Trump says he told top US envoys not to travel to Pakistan to negotiate with Iran, telling Fox News that "they can call us anytime they want.”
In a brief phone interview Saturday, Trump told Fox News that he told US negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner “you're not going to be making any more 18 hour flights to sit around talking about nothing.”
Trump also said of the US side “we have all the cards.”
His comments came after the White House said Friday that Witkoff and Kushner would be heading to Pakistan for another round of negotiations with Iran.
