Kundapur: In a road accident near Byndoor, on National Highway 66 at Uppunda Shalebagilu, a lorry driver and cleaner sustained serious injuries when their truck hit the divider and toppled on the highway.

The driver, identified as 32-year-old Vishwanath from Nayakanakatte, and the cleaner, whose identity is yet to be confirmed, are currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

The incident occurred as the truck, en route from Byndoor to Kundapur on National Highway 66, lost control near a turn at Shalebagilu. The driver's inability to maintain control resulted in the truck colliding with the divider and overturning on the road. Another goods transport truck, traveling from Mangaluru to Belagavi, is reported to have collided with the overturned truck on NH 66.

The Byndoor Police conducted an inspection at the accident site, revealing severe damage to the first truck due to the impact of the collision. Investigations into the incident are underway.

Hazaribag (PTI): Bodies of two young women and a man were found in Pauta forest in Jharkhand's Hazaribag district on Monday, police said.

Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Hazaribag headquarters, Amit Kumar Anand told PTI that after investigation, the bodies were identified as Mohammed Adil (25), a native of Katkamdag, Shania Perven (19) of Lohsingha and Khushi Perven (21) of Hazaribag Mufassil.

"All the deceased were cousins, and their bodies have been sent for post-mortem at Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College and Hospital," the police officer said.

The SDPO said that they were investigating the cause of the death and would wait for the post-mortem report.

A missing complaint was lodged about them on April 23, the officer added.
