Mangaluru: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Dharmasthala complaint case has entered the fourth day of operations, focusing on sites identified by the witness. Excavation work is currently underway at 13 locations reportedly linked to the case.
On the third day of the search, Thursday, Manjunath N, the lawyer representing Sujatha Bhat, the mother of missing medical student Ananya Bhat, released a press statement declaring, "Satyameva Jayate, God is Great."
The statement, which includes indirect messages and symbolic undertones, has sparked several questions and speculations.
The SIT investigating the case is headed by IPS officer Pronab Mohanty.
In a significant development, Mohanty's name appeared on the list of 35 IPS officers released Wednesday who are deemed eligible for deputation to Central Government service.

Latur (PTI): A minor girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped by an 18-year-old man in Latur, leading to the arrest of the main accused and owners of two cafes where the crime occurred on December 4, police said on Saturday.
Police traced the girl within hours of registering the complaint. The accused, identified as Rihan Gulab Shaikh, was arrested based on the girl's complaint. Two others are owners of two cafes where the crime occurred, police said.
Police registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), POCSO Act, and the Prevention of Atrocities Act, an official said.
