Udupi: The bodies of two young fishermen who had gone missing after their boat capsized at Alivegadde in Shiroor, Udupi district, on Sunday evening have been recovered on Monday morning.

The deceased fishermen have been identified as 22-year-old Mohammad Musab, the son of Musthafa from Gangolli, and 24-year-old Nazan, the son of Bavu Noorul Amin. Their bodies were discovered approximately 300 meters away from the location where the boat had capsized. Musab's body was found at 1:30 am on Monday, followed by the recovery of Nazan's body around 2:45 am.

The tragic incident unfolded when the young fishermen, accompanied by Alji Mohammed Yasin and Sarang Mushtaq, ventured to the Alivegadde mini port in Shiroor village to set out to sea on the fishing boat named 'Saifa,' owned by Kurdy Sadiq. While they were in the process of baiting their fishing net, a powerful sea wave struck their boat, causing it to capsize. This unfortunate turn of events resulted in the disappearance of Musab and Nazan.

Mohammad Musab had recently completed his graduation at Anjuman College of Bhatkal. On the other hand, Nazan had temporarily returned from Dubai to his hometown on a two-week leave. Mohammad Musab is survived by his parents, two brothers, and three sisters. Nazan is survived by his parents, a sister, and a brother.

The Byndoor Police Station has registered a case in connection with the incident, and an ongoing investigation is underway. ASI Niranjan Gowda from Byndoor, along with fire brigade personnel, Coastal Security Police officials, and the local tahsildar, visited the site for an inspection following the boat's capsizing.

Kalaburagi (Karnataka), Nov 26: A newborn baby boy was allegedly kidnapped from Kalaburagi district hospital by two women disguised as hospital staff, police said on Tuesday.

The incident occurred at around 3 pm on Monday, they said.

CCTV footage from the hospital premises shows the two women wandering around the campus. Additional footage captures them fleeing the hospital with the infant.

Police said that the suspects, dressed in white doctor’s aprons and with their faces partially covered, posed as hospital staff.

"They approached the mother, claiming the baby needed tests, and then fled with the infant," police added.

"We have registered a case under Section 137 (Kidnapping) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Three teams have been formed to trace the accused and recover the baby. We have some leads, and our teams are actively working on the case," a senior police officer stated.
