Udupi: The vibrant Sai Radha Pride housing complex in Brahmagiri, Udupi, witnessed a lively Independence Day celebration, bringing together residents in a colorful ceremony. As one of the largest housing communities in the area, the event added a festive touch to the occasion.

The event commenced with a warm welcome from the newly elected president, Reshma Vishwanath, who greeted the gathered residents and guests. The Founder President, Madhukar Shettigar, took the opportunity to address the assembly, sharing his thoughts on the significance of Independence Day and the sense of community unity.

The ceremony was orchestrated by Master of Ceremony (MC) M. Iqbal Manna, who ensured the smooth flow of the proceedings. The event was graced by the presence of the Secretary, U.S. Raviraj, who extended a heartfelt vote of thanks to all attendees, expressing gratitude for their participation and support.

The celebrations were followed by a communal breakfast, thoughtfully organized to foster a sense of togetherness among the residents.

Kannur (Kerala) (PTI): The Railway Protection Force on Thursday booked two youngsters for briefly stopping a long-distance train in this district after they flashed a red light to shoot social media reels.

According to the police, the incident took place around 1.50 am, shortly after the Ernakulam–Pune Express left Thalassery railway station.

On seeing the red light ahead, the loco pilot slowed down and stopped the train as a safety measure.

Based on the pilot's alert, the RPF traced the source of the light and detained two youngsters from the area. Their arrests were recorded and they were released on bail, a railway official said.

They are reportedly Plus Two students and are around 18 years old, the official added.

A mobile phone used to record the video was seized during the inquiry, the police said.
