Ullal: A conductor of a KSRTC bus faced backlash from the public in Kumpala after he allegedly forced five young girls, who were primary school students, to disembark from the bus due to their lack of Aadhaar cards. The incident occurred on Friday and has sparked outrage in the community.
The conductor in question has been identified as Hussain Saab I Hallur. He was temporarily filling in as the conductor for the KSRTC bus route between Mangaluru and Kumpala. According to reports, he instructed the girls, who were in classes 2 and 3 at the Kumpala Government School, to pay for their bus tickets since they did not possess Aadhaar cards. As the students were unable to pay, Hussain allegedly told them to alight from the bus.

Interestingly, the five students had been regularly commuting on the same KSRTC bus, and the regular conductor had never requested them to present their Aadhaar cards before. This discrepancy meant that the girls had not brought their Aadhaar cards on that particular day. It so happened that the regular conductor was on leave on the day of the incident, leading to Hussain's involvement.
The incident has drawn condemnation from various quarters, including Gulabi, the head teacher of Kumpala Government School, who was present on the bus and witnessed the incident. She described the conductor's actions as "utterly inhuman."
Local resident Yashwanth took immediate action by reaching out to KSRTC officer Ramya, urging the authorities to address the conduct of the bus conductor and take appropriate action for his reportedly insensitive treatment of the school children during their bus journey.

Hyderabad, Nov 26: At least 22 students from a government school in Telangana's Narayanpet district were hospitalised on Tuesday after complaining of headaches and stomach aches. Officials are investigating whether the illness was linked to the lunch served at the school.
The affected students had also eaten snacks from nearby bakeries and shops, and samples have been collected for laboratory testing, according to the District Educational Officer (DEO), based on preliminary information.
Over 400 students, along with district authorities, the school headmaster, and teachers, had the mid-day meal at Zilla Parishad High School in Maganoor on Tuesday. However, 22 students began experiencing symptoms of headaches, stomach pain, and vomiting at 3.30 pm.
They were admitted to a hospital, where doctors confirmed they were safe after treatment, the official said. One student who vomited claimed the potatoes and brinjal were inadequately cooked, while another had a stomach ache.
It was alleged that the affected students fell ill after having lunch, though they had also eaten snacks from outside the school. District authorities are investigating the matter from all angles, said a senior official.
This incident follows a similar case on November 20, when 17 students from the same school were hospitalised after consuming a mid-day meal.
