Uppinangady: Bike rider dies after colliding with stationary truck in Nelyadi
Uppinangady: In a tragic incident, a bike rider died after colliding with a parked truck near Sannampadi padi on the Mangaluru-Bengaluru NH-75.
The deceased has been identified as Iqbal, a resident of Nelyadi.
The accident took place when Iqbal was traveling from Uppinangady towards Nelyadi. Near Sannampadi, he collided with a parked cargo truck from behind and suffered critical injuries, and later succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, Uppinangady Police visited the spot and conducted an investigation. Iqbal’s body has been shifted to the Uppinangady government hospital mortuary.

UP: Blood-soaked body of elderly man found in Hathras
Hathras (UP) (PTI): The blood-soaked body of an elderly man was found inside his house in Paharpur village here on Tuesday morning, police said.
The deceased, Jagdish Prasad Sharma, 75, who lived alone, had gone to sleep in his house on Monday night, officials said.
On Tuesday morning, his blood-soaked body was lying on a cot, with marks on his head and body indicating blows from a sharp-edged weapon, they said, adding that the police suspect murder.
Police and forensic teams reached the spot upon receiving information and sent the body for a post-mortem, they said.
Additional Superintendent of Police Ramanand Kushwaha said that Sharma, a retired Health Department employee, had been living alone since his wife's death during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He owned around 20-25 bighas of land and was also engaged in money lending, the officer said.
