Mangaluru: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has announced plans to hold a "Dharmagraha Sabhe" at the Dongarakery Venkatramana Temple in Mangaluru on September 30. The event, which will take place from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., is expected to gather prominent Hindu leaders, saints, and members of various religious organizations.

Shivananda Mendon, Mangaluru Divisional Joint Secretary of the VHP, shared these details during a press conference on Thursday, September 26. He highlighted that the meeting would address the controversy surrounding the alleged use of animal fat in the making of Tirupati laddus, which has sparked outrage among Hindus.

"The VHP is calling for harsh punishment against those involved in this matter," Mendon stated, adding that the controversy has hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus. He urged all Hindus to send letters to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the issue and strict penalties for those responsible.

The "Dharmagraha Sabhe" will also pass a resolution advocating for the removal of government control over temple administrations. This resolution will be formally submitted to the government, according to Mendon.

In addition, the VHP has encouraged temples, daivasthanas, bhajana mandirs, and mutts to hold special prayers, seeking a thorough CBI investigation into the Tirupati laddu controversy and appropriate action against those involved.
