Kuilady Suresh Nayak, the BJP district president in Udupi, has made a provocative statement in which he claimed he would shave his head and sit outside the Karnataka Congress office in Bengaluru for half a day in May 2028 if the Congress comes to power and fulfil its promises to the public during its five-year rule.
Nayak made the comments during a press conference in Udupi on Sunday, where he accused the Congress of deceiving the public by distributing cards that look like cheques, featuring the signatures of KPCC President DK Shivakumar and Congress leader Siddaramaiah. He also alleged that the Congress' promise of Rs.1 lakh per annum to every family was a hollow promise, which could not be implemented by any government.

Nayak went on to criticize the Congress for placing advertisements in newspapers that accuse the state government, as well as Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, of corruption. He also questioned the moral right of the Congress to level such accusations, given that the former national president of the party had been granted bail in a corruption case and the current KPCC President is also facing probes from agencies.
He was referring to the defamation case against Rahul Gandhi wherein he was convicted by a Surat court following which he was disqualified as the Member of Parliament. KPCC Chief DK Shivakumar is also facing probe from ED and other agencies in alleged cases of money laundering.
Shrinidhi Hegde, a member of the BJP Media Cell, and co-spokesperson Shivakumar Ambalapadi were present at the press conference with Nayak.
