Mangaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Thursday added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should once again become the PM of the country after completing his current term.
The Chief Minister was addressing the BJP executive meeting in Mangaluru when he noted Prime Minister Modi should once again become the PM of the country for a third term. He also stressed that BJP should come into power in Karnataka again and that his party will not take any election lightly.
He also hoped that his party will win both the constituencies which have gone under by-poll elections recently. He further added that the party should focus on building up their bases where they lack power, noting that Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts were examples of the party’s strong bases.
“A grant of 125 crores will be given for Mangalore’s Mahatma Gandhi Nagar’s Development Program. Grants will be released to aid in the speedy construction of the Mangaluru Smart City Program. Effective action is being taken to flatten the problem of the Drugs Mafia. We will make Karnataka free from drugs”, he said.
The CM also added that his government will bring in a new law that will ban religious conversions for marriages.

Bengaluru (PTI): A 16-year-old boy was killed after he was allegedly hit and run over by a private bus while crossing a road here on Friday, police said.
The deceased was identified as Varun, they said.
According to police, the accident occurred around 11:30 am on the Hennur–Bagalur main road.
The boy who crossing the road on foot when he was allegedly struck by the bus and came under its rear wheel, leading to his death on the spot.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
Following the incident, family members and locals staged a protest by blocking the Hennur–Bagalur road, resulting in heavy traffic congestion in the area.
The driver of the bus has been detained, and further legal action is being initiated, a senior police officer said, adding that an investigation is underway.
