Young couple killed in tragic road accident in Mangaluru
Mangaluru: In a tragic road accident a husband and his wife succumbed to their injuries when their bike was hit by an oncoming truck near Thokottu over the bridge on Tuesday evening here in the city.
The deceased have been identified as Priya Fernandes (25) and her husband Ryan Fernandes (34). According to the reports, Priya died on the spot while Ryan breathed his last on the way to the hospital.
The couple reportedly were employed at the Father Muller’s Hospital in the city and were living in a rented house in Ullal’s Mastikatte from the last ten days.
A case has been registered in this regard at Mangaluru South Traffic Police Station.

3.4 magnitude earthquake strikes Himachal’s Mandi
Shimla, Apr 13 (PTI): A moderate-intensity earthquake, measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale, struck Himachal Pradesh's Mandi district on Sunday, officials said.
The depth of the earthquake, which struck near Mandi town at 9:18 am, was 5 km, the Met office said.
The epicentre was located at 31.49 degree latitude and 76.94 degree longitude in the Mandi region, it said.
No loss of life and property was reported from any part of the state so far, officials said.
The Mandi district falls under seismic zone 5, which is a high-damage risk zone.
