Bengaluru: In a tragic incidnet, five persons of a family killed on the spot in a collision between a government bus and a car at Bengaluru rural district's Yuntaganahalli in Nelamangala taluk on Monday night.
The deceased have been identified as Scorpio driver Yelumalai (36), Geeta (10), Kamala (35), Kiran (13) and Giridhar (14), all were residents of Bengaluru's Nayandahalli. Several passengers of the bus have sustained minor injuries and they have been hospitalised.
The incident occurred when the speeding Scorpio's driver lost control over the vehicle. Subsequently the vehicle rammed into the divider and hit the bus that was proceeding in the opposite direction near Yantaganahalli bus stand on Nelamangala-Hassan highway.
Nelamangala traffic police have registered a case regarding this.

New Delhi (PTI): Delhi battled toxic fumes on Sunday as the air quality slipped into the 'severe category with a reading of 459, according to the Central Pollution Control Board.
A thick layer of smog blanketed the city overnight, leaving people gasping for air.
As per the CPCB, an Air Quality Index (AQI) between zero and 50 is considered 'good', 51 to 100 'satisfactory', 101 to 200 'moderate', 201 to 300 'poor', 301 to 400 'very poor' and 401 to 500 'severe'.
On the weather front, the minimum temperature settled at 8.2 degrees Celsius, 0.4 notch below the season's average, and the maximum temperature is likely to hover around 24 degrees Celsius.
The relative humidity was 100 per cent at 8.30 am, the IMD said.
