Bengaluru: Congress legislator Priyank Kharge, who is also the party’s state media cell in-charge, has criticized the state government on social media in relation to Minister M T B Nagaraj’s recent statement on ‘purchasing’ desired posts.
Kharge tweeted on Saturday saying, “The chief minister’s office had ordered a few months ago to put up boards outside government offices against paying and receiving bribes. Now, however, a BJP legislator has said that one needs to pay Rs 80 lakh to get the post of an inspected.”
The Congress leader has added a jibe, “If a mere board could prevent corruption, the first should be put up outside the offices of the chief minister and the State Cabinet members.”
He has also said that the chief minister remains silent when the ministers of the government speak of the corrupt activities of the government. “Why are IT and ED not to be seen now?” he has asked.
He also tweeted that the statement made by Nagaraj ascertains that the rate has been fixed as per PayCM.
Kharge has posted on social media a video clip of Nagaraj speaking.
