Ballary: Five of a family died in accident
Ballary, June 15: Five of a family including an eight year old child died on the spot in a head-on collision between a KSRTC bus and a car near Kuluru Cross in Kurugodu police station limit here on Friday.
Five persons including a boy and two youth died when the KSRTC bus collided the car heading towards Ballary. It is said that the deceased belonged to Davangere. But their whereabouts were not yet confirmed. The intensity of the accident was so much that all the five died on the spot.
Kurugodu police rushed to the spot. The car was completely damaged. The police and the public faced a tough time in removing the bodies stuck inside the car. A case was registered at Kurugodu police station.

Ball Python rescued from housing society in Mumbai
Mumbai (PTI): A ball python, generally found in Africa, has been rescued from a residential area in Mumbai, a wildlife welfare group representative said on Thursday.
The reptile was found abandoned at a housing society in Mahim last week, triggering panic in the area.
After being alerted, members of a wildlife welfare NGO reached the spot, rescued the snake and handed it over to the forest department, he said.
The ball python is not native to India. Hence, the reptile found here is suspected to be a lost or abandoned illegal pet, the Resqink Association for Wildlife Welfare (RAWW) said.
The forest department is investigating the matter to initiate necessary action, it said.
The snake will be rehabilitated in consultation with experts from RAWW, the NGO said.
