CBI raids former Bengaluru Police Commissioner Alok Kumar's residence in phone tapping probe
Bengaluru: A CBI team investigating the alleged phone tapping probe of politicians during coalition government in the state, on Thursday morning raided residence of then Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Alok Kumar.
A team of about 20 officers of the investigating team reached Kumar’s residence and are carrying the raid.
The raid comes in the backdrop of the phone-tapping allegations’ probe being handed over to the CBI by the new BJP government in the state. It is alleged that phones of top politicians were tapped when the Congress-JD(s) coalition government was in power to avoid and stop ‘Operation Lotus’ in the state. Alok Kumar was the City’s Police Chief.

Over 105 flights cancelled, more than 450 services delayed due to fog at Delhi airport
New Delhi (PTI): More than 105 flights were cancelled and over 450 services delayed due to low-visibility conditions amid fog at the Delhi airport on Sunday.
An official said at least 55 arrivals and 52 departures were cancelled at the airport.
According to latest information available on flight tracking website Flightradar24.com, more than 450 flights were delayed and the average delay time was around 36 minutes for departures at the airport.
In a post on X in the evening, Delhi airport operator DIAL said operations are running smoothly.
DIAL operates the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), the country's largest airport that generally handles around 1,300 flights daily.
Flight operations have been disrupted for the past many days in Delhi and other airports due to dense fog.
