Bengaluru: Sandalwood actress, Ragini Dwivedi was arrested by Bengaluru police's Central Crime Branch on Friday in connection with the Sandalwood's Drugs racket. The police has taken the actress into their custody for further investigation.

FIR is registered against one of Ragini’s close aid named Ravi Shankar on Thursday. Shankar in Police custody confessed of having contact with actress Ragini.

Bengaluru Police Commissioner Kamal Pant said, “We learned that the person working in the government office was related to someone in the film industry. While the CCB was investigating Ravi Shankar, we learned that he used to attend parties and provide drugs and also consume them."

Crime Branch obtained a search warrant from the court and raided Ragini's flat in Yelahanka on Friday morning. The search operation was carried for more than four hours.

Officers confiscated a laptop, Hard disk and a computer from Ragini's flat. Subsequently, Ragini was taken to the CCB office in Chamarajapete for further investigation.

Bengaluru (PTI): A 16-year-old boy was killed after he was allegedly hit and run over by a private bus while crossing a road here on Friday, police said.

The deceased was identified as Varun, they said.

According to police, the accident occurred around 11:30 am on the Hennur–Bagalur main road.

The boy who crossing the road on foot when he was allegedly struck by the bus and came under its rear wheel, leading to his death on the spot.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

Following the incident, family members and locals staged a protest by blocking the Hennur–Bagalur road, resulting in heavy traffic congestion in the area.

The driver of the bus has been detained, and further legal action is being initiated, a senior police officer said, adding that an investigation is underway.
