Bengaluru: With the number of COVID-19 cases increasing every day in the state capital, the BBMP has notified more zones across the city as containment zones for the virus. With this, the city now has 54 containment zones.
Earlier, the BBMP had notified 46 zones as containment zones. With the relaxation of lockdown, the number of cases in the city has gone up significantly over the last few days, prompting the BBMP to increase the number of containment zones.
In the last 10 days, the city has recorded fresh COVID-19 cases from 10 new zones.
There are two containment zones in Bagalagunte and Chikkasandra areas in Dasarahalli Zone and two containment zones in Chalawadi Palya in the West zone.
In all, 54 areas including Singasandra, Padarayanapura, Bellanduru, and VV Puram, have been identified as containment zones.

Chikkaballapura (Karnataka) (PTI): Four people died in a road accident near Ajjavara Gate here on Thursday night, police sources said.
The incident occurred when a bike carrying four people collided with a tipper, they said.

The victims, said to be labourers, were travelling from Chikkaballapur to Ajjavara on the two-wheeler.
Police visited the spot and investigation is on.
