Bengaluru: Renowned film actor Rajinikanth graced the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) Depot 4 situated in Jayanagar, where he interacted with the staff of BMTC. This visit is part of Rajinikanth's tour across various regions of the state to celebrate the success of his latest movie, 'Jailer'. Earlier on Tuesday, he also paid a visit to the Raghavendra Mutt at Seetapathi Agrahara in Bengaluru before heading to the BMTC depot.

The veteran actor, who holds fame in multiple languages, including Tamil, thrilled the BMTC staff members by revisiting his former profession as a bus conductor before venturing into the film industry. During his time at the depot, Rajinikanth engaged with the staff, inquiring about their work and welfare, creating a sense of camaraderie.

This gesture resonated deeply with the employees, who were elated by his presence. Many of them took the opportunity to capture the moment by clicking selfies with the star, enhancing their delight in meeting him.

Bhatkal: More than 50 per cent of the members elected to the executive committee of Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem in its triennial elections are new faces, with a significant number of young members getting an opportunity in the organisation’s executive committee.

Polling for eight constituencies in different parts of Bhatkal was held on May 12, in which 24 members were elected. In addition, 20 members were elected unopposed from seven constituencies.

The keenest contest was witnessed in Constituency No. 14, where 10 candidates were in the fray for five seats.

With this, the process of electing members to the organisation’s 132-member executive council from Bhatkal and other regions has been completed.

Election Commissioner Mohiuddin Altaf Kharoori said the induction of a large number of new members into the executive committee has brought fresh enthusiasm to the organisation.
