Bengaluru tops major polluting cities list
BENGALURU, August 13: Beating the highly polluted Delhi, the Garden City Bengaluru has topped the list of six major polluting cities in the country.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) report, the state capital recorded the second-worst pollution due to increased industrial activities, a high number of diesel generator sets, road dust, and vehicle emission.
However, Lakshman, chairman of Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB), has reacted with skepticism. “Bengaluru does not have so many polluting industries. I don’t think these are accurate numbers. I will verify the numbers,” he told TOI.

Netanyahu recommends his Cabinet approve Hezbollah cease-fire proposal
Beirut, Nov 26: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced he will recommend a proposal for a cease-fire with Hezbollah to his Cabinet for approval, setting the stage for an end to nearly 14 months of fighting.
Netanyahu said the vote was expected later Tuesday. It was not immediately clear when the ceasefire would go into effect, and the exact terms of the deal were not released. The deal does not affect Israel's war against Hamas in Gaza, which shows no signs of ending.
