Bengaluru: Prime Minister Modi refused to waive farmer loan. But the state government has a waived off Rs 49,000 crore loan of farmers. The BJP does not have any moral right to speak lightly about the coalition government. They do not have the authority to talk about the farmers. CM Kumaraswamy cannot speak lightly about farmers, Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Parameshwar said.

Speaking to media persons, he said that the chief minister has called a meeting of the farmers of sugarcane growers on Tuesday. "He will be initiating action against the defaulter sugar factories. Everyone has the right to protest being in the legal framework," he said.

"Ambident case is under investigation. As the list of accused is increasing, nothing can be said until the investigation is over. The CCB police are handling this situation," he added.

Gondia (PTI): At least nine passengers were killed and 25 others injured when a Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus overturned in Gondia district on Friday afternoon, police said.

Citing preliminary information, a senior police official said the MSRTC bus 'Shiv Shahi' was carrying 36 passengers and heading to Gondia district from Bhandara when it flipped over at Davva village under Sadakarjuni taluka while trying to overtake another vehicle.

Nine passengers were killed and 25 others injured in the accident which took place at around 12.30 pm, he said.

The injured passengers were shifted to hospital, the official added.
