Bengaluru: The BJP, which has accused that the Congress and the JDS have made an unholy alliance, staged a protest against the coalition on Wednesday near Maurya Circle in the city.

Addressing the protesters, BJP state president BS Yeddyurappa said that before elections Kumaraswamy had promised to waive off farmers’ loan. “A state-wide bandh will be called If that promise is not fulfilled,” Yeddyurappa warned.

“People have irritated by the unholy Congress-JDS alliance. This day, when Kumaraswamy will be swearing-in, BJP will observe it as a black day,” BSY added.

BJP leaders R Ashok, Shobha Karandlaje, Jaggesh, Malavika, PC Mohan, Tara, and others participated in the protest.

Latur (PTI): A minor girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped by an 18-year-old man in Latur, leading to the arrest of the main accused and owners of two cafes where the crime occurred on December 4, police said on Saturday.

Police traced the girl within hours of registering the complaint. The accused, identified as Rihan Gulab Shaikh, was arrested based on the girl's complaint. Two others are owners of two cafes where the crime occurred, police said.

 

Police registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), POCSO Act, and the Prevention of Atrocities Act, an official said.
