CET results to be announced tomorrow, May 24
Bengaluru: The results of the Common Entrance Test (CET), conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) for admission to various professional degree courses including engineering, will be announced tomorrow, May 24.
Candidates can access their results after 2 PM by visiting either of the following official websites: https://cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/ugcetrank2025/checkresult.aspx or https://karresults.nic.in.
The CET examination was conducted across 775 centres in the state on April 16 and 17. A separate Kannada language test was held on April 15 for Kannadiga students from Horanadu and Gadinadu regions at five centres.
A total of 3.31 lakh candidates had registered for CET, with 94% of them appearing for the exam. For the Kannada language test, 2,500 applications were received and 1,958 candidates appeared.
Of the total candidates, 3,04,186 appeared for the Mathematics paper, while 2,39,848 wrote the Life Sciences paper. As many as 3,11,690 candidates each appeared for the Physics and Chemistry papers.
The results for all these candidates will be formally announced at 11:30 AM tomorrow by Higher Education Minister Dr. M.C. Sudhakar at the KEA office.

Karnataka: Shop owner killed after dispute over payment for cigarette
Belagavi (Karnataka) (PTI): A dispute allegedly triggered by alcohol consumption turned fatal following an argument over payment for a cigarette, claiming the life of a shop owner in the district, police said on Wednesday.
The incident occurred on Tuesday night, when four intoxicated youth allegedly assaulted a shop owner after he demanded payment for a cigarette, leading to his death, they added.
The deceased has been identified as Yallappa Durgappa Naik (48), the owner of a provision store.
According to police, the accused—residents of Kadoli village—had attended a fair and were returning in an inebriated state when they stopped at Naik’s shop to purchase a cigarette.
An argument reportedly broke out when Naik insisted on payment, following which the youth allegedly assaulted him.
He sustained severe injuries and succumbed while being shifted to a hospital, a senior police officer said.
Acting swiftly, Kakati police arrested all four accused within half an hour of the incident, the officer added.
The accused have been identified as Prajjwal Patil, Nikhil Chougale, Vivek Chougale and Shridhar Patil.
A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway, police said.
