Belagaum: Former Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah on Wednesday warned the state government against closing Indira Canteen a project started by his government when he was in power.

Speaking to reporters, Siddaramaiah on Wednesday said “The government has released a budged of 2.34 lakh crores and they cannot spend 400 crores on a project that is helping thousands of people every day. This makes it clear for people to see how much concerned the state government is for them”.

He also noted that he will write to the Chief Minister to not close the Indira Canteen program.

Taking a dig at PM Modi Siddaramaiah pointed that the PM has time to visit foreign countries but doesn’t have time to visit flood-hot Karnataka.

“The Centre has not yet released funds for Karnataka even when the party has 25 MPs from the state. Now that the Centre’s team visited the state Centre should immediately release funds for Karnataka” he said.
