Bengaluru: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, Deputy Chief Ministers Lakshman Sawadi and Dr Ashwath Narayana cut short the session of the Assembly on the pretext of providing compensation to flood victims. Ironically, they are found participating in the election campaign in Maharashtra.
It has been learnt that Chief Minister Yediyurappa will campaign for BJP in the wake of Maharashtra elections tomorrow or day after. Already Deputy Chief Minister Laxman awadi is campaigned in Sangli, while another DCM Dr Ashwath Narayana is helping the saffron party in Mumbai.
Lingayats can be decision makers in 13 districts of Maharashtra as the community has its strong dominance there. There are 1.20 crore Lingayat voters. Therefore, the BJP has introduced BSY to attract the votes of the Lingayas.

Bengaluru: Karnataka High Court has issued a notice to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) following the filing of application by Congress MLA Vinay Kulkarni and Chandrashekhar Indi challenging the life imprisonment awarded to them by the Special Court for murder of BJP Dharwad leader Yogish Gowda.
The divisional bench comprising Justices Muhammad Nawaz and T Venkatesh Naik heard the pleas filed by Kulkarni on April 15 and Chandrashekhar Indi also called Chandu Mama on April 16.
The bench has now issued a notice to the CBI and also directed the HC Registry to obtain the trial court documents before adjourning the hearing.
