Amaravati (PTI): Andhra Pradesh Police on Wednesday detained Srihari Pudi, general secretary, media wing of YSRCP, over a social media post against Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, said an official.
Pudi is being shifted to Kuppam in Chittoor district, where the case was registered against him, said the official.
"We are bringing him in one social media case. He is with us," the official told PTI, adding that Pudi will be produced in a local court on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, YSRCP alleged that the police have 'unlawfully' detained Pudi while he was on his way from the residence of former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Reddy's residence is located at Tadepalli village in Guntur district.
"During the detention, police seized his laptop and mobile phone. Authorities have not disclosed where he is being taken, raising serious concerns over transparency and civil liberties," said a YSRCP press release, decrying Pudi's 'illegal arrest'.
Pudi worked as the chief public relations officer (CPRO) for Reddy when he was the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh.
