Cong-BJP workers clash outside Hampinagar polling station
Bengaluru, May 12: Congress and BJP workers have reportedly clashed outside a polling station at Hampinagar in the city on Saturday. It is said that the incident happened followed by an alleged assault on a BJP corporator by a Congress worker during the voting.
Vijayanagar BJP candidate Ravindra alleged that the BJP corporator Anand was assaulted. But the police have not taken any action against the accused, he added.
But the police said that since the incident happened within the 100 mts radius of the polling station, the police are investigating the incident.
Bengaluru DCP Ravi Channannanavar said that as this polling station is considered as a sensitive one, a comprehensive investigation would be conducted into incident.

Minor girl kidnapped and raped; main accused and two cafe owners held
Latur (PTI): A minor girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped by an 18-year-old man in Latur, leading to the arrest of the main accused and owners of two cafes where the crime occurred on December 4, police said on Saturday.
Police traced the girl within hours of registering the complaint. The accused, identified as Rihan Gulab Shaikh, was arrested based on the girl's complaint. Two others are owners of two cafes where the crime occurred, police said.
Police registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), POCSO Act, and the Prevention of Atrocities Act, an official said.
