Mysuru: Former chief minister and coordination committee chairman Siddaramaiah said that the final list list of Lok Sabha candidates from Congress will be released in two days.

Speaking to reporters at his residence in Mysuru, he said “The coalition has already made a pact about seat sharing in the state. Senior leaders from both the sides will meet tomorrow and finalize the list of candidates for the state. He said party’s senior leaders will campaign in all the 28 constituencies of the state.

He further added that it is upto the party to select candidates, while the JDS will finalize their candidates themselves.

"There is demand from people that Congress party candidate should contest from Tumkuru constituency. I will discuss about it with Congress Karnataka In-charge Venugopal Rao and explain him the situation. He will take the final call" Siddaramaiah said about Tumkuru constituency.

Speaking about the Balakot airstrike he stressed that it should not be politicized and nobody should seek political gains from the matters of national security. “The BJP is riding upon development done by Congress and claiming credits for it” Siddaramaiah said.

The former CM refused to comment on Sumalatha. On a question in this regard Siddaramaiah added “She is not contesting from Congress, so I can’t comment on her. She is part of Congress”.

Chamarajanagar: The MM Hills police have arrested a woman for allegedly selling illegal ganja to visitors and tourists atop the Male Mahadeshwara Hills in Hanur Taluk here.

The arrested accused has been identified as Bhagya (40), a resident of the area.

Acting on specific information regarding the illegal sale of ganja, the raid was conducted under the guidance of Chamarajanagar Superintendent of Police Dr. B. T. Kavita and Kollegala Sub-Division Deputy Superintendent of Police Dhamendra. The operation was led by MM Hills Police Station Inspector Jagadish.

During the raid, the police seized 230 grams of ganja allegedly procured by the accused for sale. A case has been registered, and the accused has been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.

Sub-Inspector Jayaram, staff members Siddaramaiah, Ramesh, Mahesh, and Shivamurthy participated in the raid.
