Bengaluru: Union Minister Pralhad Joshi criticised the Congress government, alleging that it enforces restrictions only during Hindu festivals. Speaking to the media in Bengaluru on Saturday, he commented on the state government’s restrictions on fireworks during Diwali celebrations.
Joshi questioned why regulations are imposed on events like playing DJ music, idol immersions, processions, and fireworks only during Hindu festivals, while morning prayers begin as early as 5 a.m. in mosques without similar restrictions. "Why doesn’t the government apply the same rules and policies in such cases?" he asked.
He further said that no one can effectively stop people from setting off fireworks, saying, "Whatever happens, will happen, regardless."
