Bengaluru: Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has expressed concern that the democracy is being ruined and the Constitution is not safe in the country in the administration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He was expressing his views at a 'Meet the Press' programme at the Press Club of Bangalore, in the state capital on Monday.

The BJP leaders and those in power have no respect for the Constitution. Moreover, the RSS leaders who encourage the BJP openly speak out against the Constitution. RSS leader says that Hindu rituals do not have a value in the Constitution, therefore the Constitution should be changed. Union Minister Ananth Kumar Hegde had stated that they have come to power to change the Constitution.

"The government, which has come to power through the Constitution, is attempting to destroy the democratic system. Besides, it has weakened Constitutional institutions such as RBI, CBI, CVC and others" Siddaramaiah said.

Islamabad (AP): President Donald Trump says he told top US envoys not to travel to Pakistan to negotiate with Iran, telling Fox News that "they can call us anytime they want.”

In a brief phone interview Saturday, Trump told Fox News that he told US negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner “you're not going to be making any more 18 hour flights to sit around talking about nothing.”

Trump also said of the US side “we have all the cards.”

His comments came after the White House said Friday that Witkoff and Kushner would be heading to Pakistan for another round of negotiations with Iran.
