Bengaluru: Karnataka on Friday recorded 337 new cases of Coronavirus in the state, which has taken the total number of cases in the state to 8281. The state also recorded 10 deaths due to the deadly virus between Thursday 5 pm and Friday at 5 pm, a health bulletin issued by the Health and Family Welfare Department informed on Friday evening.
Bengaluru Urban District reported seven deaths due to the virus while Bidar and Vijaypura Districts reported two and one deaths respectively. With this the toll of death due to the virus in the state to 124.
Bengaluru Urban reported another 138 cases on Friday, Kalaburagi reported 52 and Bellary reported 37 new cases. Among other Districts which reported new cases on Friday were Hassan 18, Dakshina Kannada 13, Davangere 12, Udupi 11, Bidar 10, Mysuru 6, Koppal 6, Yadgiri, Bengaluru Rural and Kolar 4 each, Mandya, Dharwad, Ramanagar, Chikkaballapur and Bagalkote 3 each, Chikkamagaluru, Tumkuru 2 each, Belagavi, Uttara Kannada and Shimoga reported 1 case each on Friday.
Of the 8,281 cases reported in the state so far, 5,210 patients have recovered and have been discharged from the hospitals, including 230 on Friday. 124 have succumbed to the virus while the state has 2,943 active cases, the bulletin informed.

Jaipur (PTI): Former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday expressed concern over the reported attacks and disruptions in prayer gatherings of the Christian community in different parts of the country, saying such incidents were "worrying and condemnable".
In a post on X, Gehlot said that while the Prime Minister Narendra Modi was visiting a church and giving a message of peace and harmony, news of attacks on members of the Christian community from various regions reflected a serious contradiction.

"Symbolic gestures would not be enough, and strict legal action was required against those spreading hatred," the senior Congress leader said.
He added that Indian culture has always upheld the spirit of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam", where every citizen has full freedom to practise their faith.
Gehlot urged the Centre and state governments to uphold the rule of law and ensure that no citizen is forced to celebrate their festival under fear.
