Bengaluru: The political scene in the Channapatna Assembly constituency is heating up ahead of the by-election, with strong indications that former minister C.P. Yogeshwar, a BJP ticket aspirant, may join the Congress.
This speculation gained traction after Yogeshwar was seen at the residence of KPCC President and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar this morning. Following their meeting, both leaders were seen heading to the residence of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the same car.
It is being reported that after meeting with the Chief Minister, Yogeshwar is likely to join the Congress, with the possibility of him filing his nomination as the party’s candidate on October 24. Yogeshwar, who is determined to contest the election, submitted his resignation as a BJP MLC on Monday.
