Bengaluru: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar on Monday hit back at the BJP for demanding an NIA probe into the Dharmasthala case, accusing the party of playing politics and creating internal rifts.

Speaking to the media at the KPCC office on Queens Road, Shivakumar questioned why the BJP was dissatisfied with the ongoing investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT). “Is the BJP not happy with the SIT’s probe? They are the ones who first demanded the SIT, they also welcomed its formation. Now they are enacting a drama,” he said.

He further alleged that the BJP itself was divided into two camps and was staging conspiracies. “Not once has the BJP openly spoken about securing justice for Dharmasthala. It is their own grassroots workers who are responsible for bringing a bad name to Dharmasthala,” he added.
