Famers’ leader Puttanaiah’s fan ends life
Mandya: Unable to bear the death of K. S. Puttannaiah, who died on Sunday due to cardiac arrest, his fan allegedly committed suicide on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Chandru (27) of Khyatanahalli. He was found hanging from the ceiling.
According to the villagers, he was a die-hard fan of Mr. Puttannaiah and couldn’t bear the shock of his death. He would play dice with Mr. Puttannaiah in the evenings, said villagers.

Rubio says NATO “does not exist without the United States”
Washington: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has criticised NATO, saying the military alliance “does not exist without the United States”.
Speaking to Al Jazeera, Rubio said, “And everyone knows this fact.”
His remarks come amid growing tensions over the ongoing US-Israeli military actions against Iran.
US President Donald Trump has also sharply criticised NATO for not supporting the campaign. In a post on Truth Social, he said NATO countries are “COWARDS and we will REMEMBER!”
