Bengaluru: Karnataka State Fire and Emergency Services has deployed more than 200 personnel, boats to undertake rescue operations in the flood areas in Belagavi, Bagalkot, Raichur and Yadgiri Districts in the State and as many as 50 members of the State Disaster Response Force from the Belagavi and Kalaburagi Region besides boats and water tenders.
Personnel have been deployed in Ingali, Manjari and Edeyurwadi in Belagavi District. Vadegera and Surpur Taluks in Yadgir District, Lingasugur and Devadurga Taluk in Raichur District.
As a precautionary measure personnel have also been deployed in Bedakihal, Nippani, Kudachi, Harogeri, Raddarhatti, Jugula and Ainapura in Chikkodi Taluk in the same district, according to a press release by the state government.
"Rescue Personnel have been reserved and boats have been kept in standby position in Bailahongala, Gokak and Khanapur Taluks of Belagavi Districts as well as in Jamkhandi Taluk in Bagalkote District. The Department has also deployed 40 Home Guards for Raichur and 100 Home Guards for Belagavi Districts" the press release added.
Fire Stations at Ballari and Koppal are also put on standby position to respond to any eventualities during emergencies, the official press release further added.

Srinagar (PTI): Property worth Rs 1 crore belonging to a notorious drug peddler was on Saturday attached in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar, police said.
A double-storey house on eight marlas of land situated at Wantpora Eidgah, belonging to Basit Bilal Dar, a notorious drug peddler, valued at approximately Rs 1 crore, a police spokesperson said.
He said Dar is involved in two cases registered under various sections of the NDPS Act.
During investigation, it was established that the accused had acquired the said property through illicit proceeds generated from drug trafficking activities, the spokesperson said.
Consequently, the property was attached under the provisions of the NDPS Act. The attachment proceedings were conducted in the presence of the two independent witnesses, strictly in accordance with the prescribed legal procedures, he said.
As per the attachment order, the owner has been restrained from selling, leasing, transferring, altering, or creating any third-party interest in the property till further orders, the spokesperson added.
