Bengaluru, June 18: When the SIT officials intensified the interrogation of main accused in the Gauri Lankesh murder case, Parashuram Waghmore, it came to light that the accused have formed four different teams to kill four rationalists.
The accused have systematically carried out their crime by killing four rationalists like Govind Pansare, Narendra Dabholkar, Dr MM Kalburgi and Gauri Lankesh in four separate teams. It came to light when the SIT interrogated Parashuram, it is said.
The modus operandi of all the four murders was same. But it was not yet known who provided the pistols to these accused to kill the rationalists. SIT has continued its investigation to find that person, for which investigation is being conducted even in neighbouring states, sources said.
It is suspected that one person and one organization were behind the killings of these people. But the SIT officials did not get the clue about that person. These teams were active in Karnataka and Maharashtra and plotting to kill other rationalists, sources said.
Hearing postponed
The 70th CCH Court on Monday postponed the hearing of a bail plea filed by another main accused in the case and Hindu organization head KT Naveen Kumar to June 21, sources said.
