Four youngsters killed in car-lorry collision near Sampaje in Kodagu
Madikeri: In a tragic road accident near Koinadu on the Mani–Mysuru National Highway this afternoon, four youngsters travelling in a car lost their lives after a head-on collision with a lorry.
The deceased have been identified as Nihad, Rizwan, and Rakhib, while the identity of the fourth victim is yet to be confirmed. According to police, two of them died on the spot, and the other two succumbed to injuries while being shifted to the hospital.
All four were reportedly from Gonikoppa and Hunsur. They had travelled to Ullal in Dakshina Kannada on Thursday and were returning home when the fatal accident occurred. Their car collided with a lorry coming from the Madikeri side towards Sullia near Koinadu.
Kodagu police visited the accident site and are carrying out further investigation.

Kasaragod: Father kills teen daughter over family feud, arrested
Kasaragod: An 18-year-old girl was allegedly hacked to death by her father following a family dispute at Kunjathur, Thuminad near Manjeshwara on Tuesday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Jumaila, a resident of Thuminad. Police said the accused, Umar Farooq, has been arrested in connection with the murder.
According to police sources, Jumaila was found lying in a pool of blood after neighbours rushed to the house on hearing her screams.
She was shifted to a hospital, but doctors declared her dead.
Locals said that Umar Farooq, who had been working abroad, returned to the village about three months ago.
Since his return, the family had been involved in frequent disputes, reportedly over property-related issues.
Police officials visited the spot and have launched a detailed investigation into the incident.
