Bengaluru, November 20: As the investigation into the murder of senior journalist Gauri Lankesh is almost completed, the SIT has prepared to submit 4,000 pages of charge sheet to the court, sources said.
The investigation being conducted by the SIT sleuths for the last 14 months is likely to end shortly. In last May, the SIT officials have submitted 650 page charge sheet to the court related to this case. Now, it has prepared 4,000-pages charge sheet against the accused and the charge sheet has all details about each and every accused in the case, reliable sources said.
It is said that the SIT might establish that Gauri Lankesh was killed mainly because of rational and ideological differences. Though the accused Amol Kale hatched out a plan to kill Gauri, the accused who shot Gauri was Parshuram Waghmore. Now, the SIT has included all the details of all the 17 accused arrested in the case, sources said.

Mumbai (PTI): The Maharashtra government on Friday withdrew its order to disburse Rs 10 crore for strengthening the Maharashtra state Waqf Board, state chief secretary Sujata Saunik said.
The development comes a day after a government resolution (GR) was issued, in which the state administration ordered disbursal of Rs 10 crore funds for strengthening the state Waqf Board.
When asked whether the GR was withdrawn, Saunik confirmed the development.
As per the November 28 GR, Rs 20 crore were earmarked for 2024-25 for strengthening of the Maharashtra State Board of Waqfs (MSBW). Of that, Rs 2 crore were disbursed to the MSBW headquartered in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
