Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has said that the government’s only aim in the Dharmasthala case is to place facts before the people.
Speaking to reporters at his Sadashivanagar residence on Saturday, Shivakumar was asked about Veerendra Heggade’s statement that the formation of the SIT had cleared the stain on him. He replied, “Let the investigation report come. Only then will I speak. I have seen Veerendra Heggade’s statement in the media. But there is no meaning in reacting before the report is out. Politically, anyone can say anything. But I am a representative of the government, I cannot talk like others. Once the report is submitted, either the Chief Minister or the Home Minister will make an official statement. After that, I will also respond.”
When asked if action would be taken against those misleading people despite the Supreme Court dismissing the PIL in the case, Shivakumar said, “Right now, that discussion is unnecessary. The petition was filed in the Supreme Court, and it was dismissed. The court directed the petitioners to approach the local investigation. Everyone knows this. But no one is speaking about the Supreme Court’s directions. We also have information about those who carried a skeleton to Delhi. But let the investigation team officially submit its report first.”
