Mangaluru: Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao has accused the Governor of acting as a puppet of the Central Government against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah concerning the alleged Mysuru land allotment case.
Speaking to reporters, Gundu Rao criticized the Governor for issuing a show cause notice to the Chief Minister shortly after receiving a complaint from TJ Abraham, who has a controversial background and was fined Rs 20 lakh by the Supreme Court.
Gundu Rao expressed dissatisfaction that the Governor issued the notice within hours of receiving a complaint consisting of hundreds of pages, without consulting legal experts.
Gundu Rao urged that Siddaramaiah be allowed to follow legal procedures and prove any allegations of wrongdoing.
He challenged BJP and JDS leaders to substantiate their claims of abuse of power, noting that the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) board, which includes representatives from various political parties, has allocated land to many people over time.
He also highlighted pending cases against other political figures, including a POCSO case against Yediyurappa and another case against Vijayendra, questioning their moral standing.
Regarding the BJP's planned padayatra, Gundu Rao commented that while official permission might not be granted, the democratic system allows for such events with certain restrictions.
